Turpin IML Coach of the Year, Bo Bateman MVP

Badger junior Bo Bateman has been named this year’s All-Intermountain League Baseball Most Valuable Player, and his coach, Tom Turpin, is IML baseball’s 2021 Coach of the Year.

Bo batted .500 in league and led the league in hits, 24, RBIs, 23, and runs, 21, in 12 games. In 55 plate appearances, he only struck out four times.

Named to the IML All-League Team were Teigan Banning and Blake Rice, both Badger sophomores, Logan Jerome, Luke Frohlich and Brody Hoffman, all of Kellogg, Everett Hannah, Priest River, and Alex Drake and Jacob Hessing, both of Timberlake.

Banning went 6-0 as pitcher in league, including a no-hitter against Kellogg. He finished the season with 46 strikeouts in 28 innings with a 3.50 earned run average.

He also batted .357 with 15 hits, 12 RBI and 17 runs scored. He also played center field and first base.

Rice batted .479 in league with nine doubles and 18 runs scored. He pitched and played second base.
