The Boundary County Republican Central Committee (BCRCC) will host its annual Lincoln Day Dinner, with social hour at 5 p.m. and this year’s program at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at The Great Northwest Territories Event Center, 998 Mountain Meadows Road, Naples.
Tickets are $45 per person, available from any BCRCC member or by calling (208) 267-8170, and must be purchased in advance. This is the BCRCC’s only fundraiser for the year and this year’s theme is “Never Surrender.”
Lincoln Day dinners are held across the United States each year by local and state GOP parties. Typically they are held in March and April, but due to COVID, they had to push the dinner back until we reached stage 3 restrictions.
The tradition is for the recognition of the start of the Republican Party.
Funds generated will be used for expenses to run the organization. Members are required to attend meetings local and at state and national level and to support Republican candidates in the general elections with campaign donations.
Local, state and federal elected officials typically attend the dinners and members have invited all of Idaho’s District 1 Republican elected officials and many have confirmed their attendance this year.
Elected officials are allowed and encouraged to speak at the event.
There will also be a silent auction with a Grand Door Prize of a Ruger American .308 rifle to be given to one lucky attendee.
Dinner will be prime rib and all the fixings! Typically about 100 people attend.
BCRCC meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at Mugsy’s Tavern & Grill, 7161 Main Street in downtown Bonners Ferry, and all are open to the public. The BCRCC also has a booth at the fair each year and is staffed by BCRCC members and elected officials.
