Congratulations to Tyler Warner, who has been selected as BFHS Certified Employee of the Month for April! Tyler is a 2008 BFHS graduate who excelled at school, especially in social studies.
While in high school, he explored his love of history by participating in his first trip to Washington, DC, with a youth leadership group tour.
After graduation, Tyler attended and graduated from the University of Montana, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a double major in history and political science.
It was during his freshman year of college that he went back to DC to witness the historic inauguration of the United States’ first black president, Barack Obama.
Washington, DC, is a history nerd’s dream come true, and on three separate occasions, Mr. Warner has taken BFHS groups to DC to share his love of history.
Bonners Ferry High School has been lucky to have Tyler as a teacher for eight years now. He has also been the BFHS Cross Country coach for all eight years as well.
Tyler’s favorite thing about teaching at BFHS is having conversations about what it means to study history and be a well-informed American. He likes sharing weird history stories with students and really enjoys the storytelling aspect of his job.
When Tyler is not sharing his love of history with students or coaching cross country, he enjoys spending his time hiking all over with his new wife, Rachel, and hunting ducks with his dog Nessie.
He also enjoys playing guitar and listening nerdy history pod casts on his way to work.
