Fire crews keep damage minimal at Three Mile mill fire

Fire crews from multiple agencies responded quickly to a report of a structure fully engulfed at Timberland Woods specialty mill at about 5:15 p.m. today on Highway 2 near Three Mile Junction.

Thanks to their quick response and decisive action, the fire, in a shed near the back of their main building and sales showroom, did not spread, though sparks and embers blowing west did create some hotspots in the mill yard.

Crews were able to contain the fire and extinguish the hotspot, and, as of 6 p.m., remain on scene.
