Valley View Elementary students rallied to raise $3,884.95 for the American Heart Association this year through their fundraising program, Kids Heart Challenge.

Their original goal of $1,500 was easily surpassed in the first week because of the good-hearted challenge of duct taping their principal, Harmon Newhouse, to the wall if they raised $100 or more individually.

On Thursday, March 11, 15 kindergarten through fifth grade students thoroughly enjoyed “sticking it to their principal.”

Physical Education teacher Paula Petesch would like to thank everyone who donated to the fundraiser that helps to promote heart healthy activities.
