Valley View Elementary has done numerous fundraising events over the years to raise money for the school such as the school carnival, chili feed and the Christmas store. Unfortunately, this year they are stymied from throwing any sort of fun community get-together. But the thought of not doing something fun just wasn’t sitting well.
A group of teachers worked together to brainstorm several great ideas on how they can still fundraise money to give Valley View students the best resources and opportunities at school. Their solution was to host an online Facebook Valentine’s Day-themed auction!
The auction began January 25, and it ends at 7 p.m. Friday, February 12, just in time for Valentine’s Day Sunday, February 14.
And the array of action items is truly breathtaking; Schweitzer tickets, a beautiful flannel rag baby blanket, a horseshoe wreath, homemade cards by Paula Petesch, a $50 gift card to Grama J’s Beignets, an Airtone 2 wireless headset, a gorgeous C4 energy drink bike donated by Super 1 Foods, an everlasting wreath from BeeHaven Flower Farm, a cozy Movie Night basket that includes a fuzzy throw blanket, sweet treats, microwave popcorn, three movies, Happy Feet, Bingo, and a coupon for $30 at Pizza Factory and more, a sinful-looking chocolate peanut butter pie, just to name a few!
The group is private, but those who’d like to bid or who’d like to donate can request to join with the push of a button. Donors/buyers are responsible for setting up a time and place to exchange goods.
