A 26-year-old Bonners Ferry man is expected in court at 1:30 p.m. Friday for a preliminary hearing on two counts of rape in a case involving a juvenile who’d been listed as missing and possibly abducted last year. Eric Steven Marti was charged December 10, but he’s not been arrested nor has bail been set.
According to court documents, Marti allegedly had sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old girl from March through October 2020, accounting for Count I, and again on or about October 31 for Count II.
Marti made his initial appearance before Magistrate Judge Justin Julian, who will conduct the January 15 hearing.
If convicted, Marti faces a term of one year to life on each count.
