Heavy snow expected Monday morning

The National Weather Service, Spokane, has issued a winter weather advisory for heavy snow above 2,000 feet in North Idaho and northeast Washington, in effect from 4 a.m. to noon Monday.

Around three inches of new snow is possible in the valleys, and six inches to a foot possible at higher elevations.

For reference, the Boundary County Airport at Three Mile is at 2,337.1 feet elevation.

Motorists should expect winter driving conditions for the morning commute.
