BC shutting down alcohol sales overnight tonight

A new amendment to a provincial health officer order was put in place to ensure a safer New Year’s Eve for everyone. Effective at 8 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. Friday, January 1, the service and sale of alcohol is prohibited. This applies to any establishment that sells or serves alcohol, including bars, restaurants, pubs, liquor stores or grocery stores.

Unless a full meal service is provided, premises which are licensed to serve liquor must close between 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. January 1, 2021. Learn more here.

The BC Centre for Disease Control released an update map of COVID-19 cases by local health area of case residence showing that from December 20 to 26,  there were two cases of COVID-19 in the Creston Local Health Area. To view the map, click here.
