Mikkel Becker to tell of Rockey’s legacy today on KXLY

Despite being up much of the night with kidney stones and other ills that prompted a visit to the clinic, Mikkel Becker will sit for an interview to talk about her late uncle, Rockey Burkholder, airing at 6 p.m. today on KXLY News 4, and it will also be aired on ABC’s World News Tonight.

“I would do this if I were on my death bed,” Mikkel said.

She and her daughter, Reagan, will talk about what Rockey meant to them and to the entire Bonners Ferry Community of which he was an integral and inseparable part for all his 72 years, spreading cheer and joy without condition, a boy who never grew up to a man who never lost the beautiful innocence of youth.

She will also share his wish that everyone take the virus that claimed his life December 7, SARS-Cov-2, better known as COVID-19, seriously, and faithfully practice social distancing, wear masks, wash your hands fastidiously.

“His wish was that no one have to go through what he did,” Mikkel said.
