The National Weather Service, Missoula, has issued an air stagnation advisory for the Kootenai/Cabinet and the Potomac/Seeley Lake Regions in effect from 11 p.m. today through 11 a.m. Saturday.
Light winds and reduced vertical mixing is expected to result in deteriorating air quality. Prolonged periods of stagnant air can hold pollutants close to the ground, where people breathe.
Those with respiratory illnesses should avoid exertion and contact your physician if you experience breathing difficulties.
Those who can are encouraged to postpone outdoor burning and to keep wood stoves burning as little as possible.
