U.S. COVID rollercoaster still climbing

Lincoln County saw 20 new COVID-19 cases confirmed Friday and 22 more today, bringing the county total to 410, with 112 cases active and five fatal.

Statewide, there were 986 cases confirmed November 6 and 1,086 today to bring the total count since the pandemic began to 38,948, with 14,678 cases active as of 5 p.m. today and 445 Montanans dead.

On Friday, Panhandle Health reported 210 new COVID-19 cases in the day ended at 5 p.m., bringing the total count in the five North Idaho counties to 6,360, with 47 patients hospitalized and 81 people dead.

Boundary County had 249 total cases, 161 active, Bonner 590, 165 active.

Across Idaho, 1,403 new cases were confirmed in the day ended at 5 p.m. today, bringing the state COVID-19 count to 72,312, with 683 dead.

Nationwide, 117,988 new cases were confirmed today and 1,135 more Americans died, bringing the nation’s death toll to 237,017 and overall count to 8,849,696.
