Second Chance Animal Adoption’s 10th annual Halloween event will be different than usual this year due to the public concerns about the Covid-19 virus, a smaller Howloween celebration in BooVille that will follow the CDC guidelines but still offer fun for all!
Masks have become part of our everyday normal now, so for fun they will have a Creative Mask Contest! Decorate your masks and stop in at Second Chance Thrift Store, 6651 Lincoln Street, Bonners Ferry, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and staff will be photograph those who want to participate in the mask contest them all while respecting social distancing.
Those with the most creative masks will receive first, second and third prize, to be awarded during this year’s BooVille celebration, which takes place at Second Chance from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, October 31. They will also have a fortune teller on hand!
Trunk or Treat Candy, provided by our local Super 1 and Safeway as well as Wal-Mart, will be handed out to our trick or treat guests by our staff and volunteers.
All staff and volunteers will all be wearing masks and gloves and the candies will all be individually wrapped.
This is much different than previous years but organizers still hope to provide you with a little spooktacular fun. They hope to see you at their 10th Annual Halloween Fundraiser, and are extremely grateful to the many local businesses that have chosen to sponsor and support Second Chance Animal Adoption even though the event is limited this time around.
“We could not do as well as we do for our animals without the support of the community,” they said. “We plan to be back better and bigger next year! See you there!”
