Winter storm advisory upgraded to warning

A winter storm watch issued for North Idaho has been upgraded and extended; it is now a winter storm warning and it’s in effect from 1 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

Snow will be heavy at times, with three to six inches expected in the valleys and seven to 13-inches in the mountains.

In addition, winds gusting to 40 miles per hour are likely Friday night.

Driving will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, and heavy snow could bring down trees and power lines, potentially causing outages.
