North Idaho wind watch upgraded

The high wind watch issued on Monday for North Idaho has been upgraded to a high wind advisory for Boundary, Bonner, Kootenai and Shoshone Counties, in effect from 2 to 11 p.m. today.

Southwest winds of 15 to 30 miles per hour gusting up to 50 miles an hour are expected.

Area residents are advised to secure anything that might blow around to prevent property damage and be prepared for falling trees and power outages, and motorists should use extra caution, especially those in high profile vehicles.
