Smoke to affect air quality into the work week, but should get better

The heavy smoke that’s blanketed much of the region with unhealthy air (red) and worse (purple) over the weekend should start improving Monday, but it could take until mid-week and some rain to once again see blue skies over  the Kootenai River Valley.

“Cooler air and light winds may begin to bring relief from the smoke on Monday,” the National Weather Service predicts. “Wildfire smoke will likely continue to create reduced air quality into early next week.”
