Cranbrook RCMP seeking dash cam video to assist investigation

Cranbrook RCMP are requesting dash cam footage from motorists to assist in the investigation into the fire that destroyed two buildings in the city.

“We are asking for assistance from the public to provide us with any dash cam or video footage within this time frame to help us with our investigation,” said constable Katie Forgeron.

On September 1, Cranbrook RCMP were called to assist the Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services for a structure fire in the 800 block of Cranbrook Street North. The former Canadian Legion building was fully engulfed in flames. Both the Legion and the May May Restaurant were destroyed by the fire.

Cranbrook RCMP are asking for any video footage on September 1 between 1:30 and 2 p.m. from motorists driving on Cranbrook Street North between 6th Street North and Victoria Avenue.
