Hot weather coming to northwest Montana

Heat advisory

The National Weather Service, Missoula, has issued a heat advisory for the Kootenai/Cabinet and Lower Clark Fork regions, calling for temperatures as high as 107 between 1 p.m. Sunday and 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Affected areas include the valleys along Highway 2 between Troy and Libby, Highway 37 from Libby to the Libby Dam, along Bull Lake Road, Evaro Hill, Highway 200 from Noxon to Thompson Falls to Plains, and I-90 from Haugan to Huson.

High temperatures in the upper 90s to 107 are expected, cooling over night to the upper 50s to upper 60s.

Those who expect to be outside are encouraged to take precautions to avoid heat injuries.
